GEORGETOWN, S.C. – South Carolina Federal Credit Union and Georgetown Kraft Credit Union have joined forces to sponsor the Kensington Elementary School High Performance Partnership. Created by S.C. Chamber of Commerce, the program helps children gain early awareness and readiness for undergraduate programs by developing the academic and life skills necessary to be successful economically as they grow into members of society. The program specifically targets schools in areas of high and growing poverty. "We are proud to sponsor such a wonderful initiative for children in our community. It is important for tomorrow's future to begin in the classrooms today. These children will one day lead the world of tomorrow and it is our responsibility to provide them with the opportunities and knowledge to be successful," said Libbie Lewis, S.C. Federal Georgetown branch vice president. "Being able to create and develop partnerships between the business community and the educational institutions is vital to the success of our community," added GKCU President Robbie Jordan. "Working together we can help make the futures better for these children and our community."
