MADISON, Wis. – The CUNA Councils has found its milestone 3,000th member. Beach Municipal FCU Director of Marketing Diana M. Counts is the lucky recipient of a $3,000 professional development scholarship and her credit union has also won a complimentary 2005 membership for each council. Counts joined the CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council on March 23 on the recommendation of her CEO Kimberly Shore. According to CUNA Council Director David Rohn memberships have already climbed to more than 3,150 members across the country. “We wanted to celebrate this significant achievement with a special award for both the member and their credit union,” said Rohn. “I was thrilled to be able to award Diana with this award, especially because it was clear that her CEO understood the value of leveraging Council resources and actively encouraged staff to join. It is entirely appropriate that the member that put us over the top came from the Marketing and Business Development Council, since that is the group that helped launch the councils in 1994.”
