PORTLAND, Me. – The 110 credit unions processing checks through Synergent are now being offered branch item capture and Check 21 returns solutions from VSoft Corp. Portland-based Synergent already had been offering image capture solutions from Atlanta-based VSoft and says it has added the new services to help its customers lower their transportation and weather-related costs, and reduce lost-item risk and deposit-handling times. Forty of the Synergent’s 110 customers have committed to VSoft Branch Item Capture, which uses a low-speed scanner to capture images that are sent electronically to Synergent for final credit to the credit union, King says, and he expects nearly 100% participation within the next 18 months.
