MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. – Kinecta FCU CEO Thomas Graham has left the credit union effective April 29. The $3 billion credit union did not disclose any terms of Graham’s departure. Graham joined Kinecta in 1990 as SVP of administration. At that time the CU was called Hughes Aircraft Employees FCU. Graham quickly moved up the ranks until landing the CEO job in 1998. He helped lead the CU through a name change to Kinecta. Hughes Aircraft, the original sponsor for the credit union, was bought out by Raytheon -one of the reason’s the CU changed its name to Kinecta. Kinecta board member David A. Gale has been named interim CEO. Gale has over 28 years experience with Hughes Aircraft. The Kinecta board has formed a search committee and is currently seeking an executive search firm. With over $3 billion in assets, the Kinecta job will be a highly-sought position in the industry. Graham was also a board member with CUNA Mutual and WesCorp. He was immediately removed from WesCorp’s board per its bylaws and the CUNA Mutual board will likely remove Graham at their next board meeting scheduled for June 3.
