ROCKVILLE, Md.-MCT Federal Credit Union announced the choice of veteran employee Linda Ramsey as its new president and CEO. Ramsey has been with MCT Federal Credit Union for 33 years, starting out as a loan officer and climbing the ladder up to chief operations officer before becoming president & CEO. “When I began at MCT, we had fewer than 10,000 members and personal loans were capped at $2,500,” Ramsey recalled. “Today we have over 54,000 members and have grown to be a full-service financial institution with assets of $238 million.” Despite its growth, Ramsey is pleased MCT “has stayed true to the purpose of what credit unions stand for.” She has been a strong advocate of financial education and serves on the board of directors of the Montgomery County Public Schools Academy of Finance, which provides hands-on training to high school students. The credit union also operates several branches at high schools in the area, plus one at a local elementary school. It also provides college scholarships, internships, a job shadow program, and helps train students at the annual MCPS Career Day. Ramsey was raised in Montgomery County, where she still resides. MCT was chartered as the Montgomery County Teachers Federal Credit Union, and is now open to anyone connected with public or private education in Montgomery County.
