GLENDALE, Calif. – Fiscal Credit Union Vice President of Human Resources Paula A. Currens has been named HRD Network’s Virginia Baldauf Human Resources Professional of the Year. Named after former HRD Network President and retired San Mateo CU HR Executive Virginia Baldauf, the award is presented to an HR professional who has demonstrated exemplary achievement in the areas of leadership, vision/focus, teamwork, communication, risk-taking, interpersonal skills, innovation, development, and ethics. “Paula has successfully adapted and aligned the mission of the human resources department to the strategic goals of the credit union by implementing innovative solutions to rapidly changing business challenges. The solutions emphasize practical, actionable solutions to real issues”, said Fiscal CU President/CEO Michael Gomez in his letter of nomination. According to Gomez, Currens – who has been with Fiscal for 10 of her 18 years in the credit union industry – has been a key contributor in Fiscal CU’s annual strategic planning process. Founded in 1986, the HRD Network provides informational resources, education, and various support services for professionals in human resources across California, Nevada and other western states.
