JACKSON, Mich. – American 1 Federal Credit Union’s second Spring Expo had a major goal – to grant women here at least one day to not only focus on themselves but also make personal improvements to their lives. Women here were obviously grateful for the respite as neither snow nor rain could stop the more than 475 attendees from packing the local Jackson Fair Events Center to learn more about home, health and beauty. “Our expo has a variety of helpful products and services for women in one convenient location to see what area businesses and organization have to offer,” said American 1 FCU Marketing Director Kristi Latoszewski. “Women talk to women, and the guests who have attended past expos invite their friends and family. We know this expo series will just get bigger and better.” Prizes donated by the over 50 onsite vendors ranging from a year’s worth of flowers to a day at a spa, were presented in hourly drawings. Expo attendees were also treated to performances by a clogging troupe and free taste testing from restaurants, including a light lunch provided by catering sponsor Fazoli’s. According to Latoszewski, the spring event drew the largest crowd ever since the credit union’s first expo in 2003 with attendance increasing by some 100 guests each fall and spring. American 1 FCU’s fifth overall expo is slated for October and plans are underway to offer more interactive booths, taste testing, and informational vendors.
