ROCKVILLE, Md. – MCT Federal Credit Union has cut the ribbon on its latest in-school branch at Paint Branch High School. The Panther Trust branch marks MCT FCU's seventh in-school branch that operates in Montgomery County public schools. "We hope to educate students and provide them with the knowledge to save money and prevent credit card debt," said Jane Westcott, a MCT Credit Union representative. "Students provide staffing at each of the branches and gain real-world experience in operating a financial institution." The Panther Trust branch will be open every Wednesday to students, faculty, staff and relatives of students. Accounts can be opened with as little as $5. MCT offered all new clients at Paint Branch HS an incentive of $5 to the first 50 customers that opened an individual account. "MCT Federal Credit Union has a strong community commitment to educate young people about financial management," said Lynne Talon, MCT Youth Services Development Director. "MCT also provides scholarships and internships for students and is very active in the Montgomery County Public Schools Academy of Finance program."
