WASHINGTON – CUNA Mutual has added another $100,000 to the National Credit Union Foundation in support of the Foundation’s activities. CUNA Mutual Director Eldon Arnold was recognized for CUNA Mutual’s contribution at NCUF’s 2005 Herb Wegner Memorial Awards Dinner, held Feb. 27 in conjunction the Credit Union National Association’s Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C. “CUNA Mutual is honored to support an organization that devotes so much energy to strengthen and develop the credit union movement,” said Jeff Post, president/CEO of CUNA Mutual. “The National Credit Union Foundation embodies the spirit of the credit union movement.” “CUNA Mutual is a long-time supporter of the National Credit Union Foundation,” said the Foundation’s executive director, Steve Delfin. “In addition to this year’s $100,000 contribution and the hundreds of thousands of dollars the company has provided over the years, the Foundation also benefits from having Larry Blanchard, CUNA Mutual senior vice president, serve on our board.” Delfin added that the insurance company is providing the NCUF with technical audio visual help in getting the Foundation’s message out to more of the credit union industry. The Foundation has included making its work more known among a broader range of the credit union industry a part of its outreach effort in 2005. In addition to the $100,000 contribution, CUNA Mutual was recognized Feb. 27 for a promotional DVD it produced for the Foundation. “Imagine a Future” premiered at the Wegner Awards ceremony and it will be used for promoting NCUF’s charitable role in the credit union movement.
