SALT LAKE CITY – Mountain America Credit Union has recently been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of South Jordan for its South Jordan branch. The city presents four Certificates of Appreciation each year-one each quarter. Designed by DCA Group Architects, the South Jordan branch with its many windows and open feel has helped kick off a new era of branches for the $1.35 billion credit union. "We really wanted the focal point of the facility to be the entry rotunda, which is an open, two-story space that contains an elevator and a circular stairway," says Don Mahoney of DCA. "The goal was to express a sense of progressive design that utilized texture, color and form to reflect a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere." The multi-level building also houses the Small Business Administration's loans processing function. "Mountain America Credit Union was looking to take advantage of a great location by placing a showcase branch. We are very pleased that the branch has been accepted and appreciated by the community," said Mountain America CU Executive Vice President Sterling Nielsen.
