SAN ANTONIO, Texas – When local San Antonio College student Joseph Garza decided to "Dribble for Dollars" to benefit tsunami victim relief efforts he turned to San Antonio Federal Credit Union to donate the funds raised. Garza's nine-hour fundraiser of dribbling a basketball took place in the parking lot of Wayside Chapel. SACU has pledged to match the funds to be deposited into the KENS 5 Tsunami Relief Fund at the credit union. "SACU is pleased to support this young man's dedicated efforts to help others," said Jeff Farver, SACU president/CEO. "Not only did `Dribble for Dollars' raise money, it also raised awareness of the need to give. We saw an increase in deposits to the KENS 5 Tsunami Relief fund following the weekend event. Joseph is a credit to our community." This fundraiser was the second such event for Garza. In 2001, he raised money for 9-11 victims.
