BETHPAGE, N.Y. – Bethpage FCU recently tapped Linda Armyn in a new position that will oversee the credit union’s business development and services. The $2.1 billion CU promoted Armyn to vice president of business development/business services. The title was created to signify the scope of Armyn’s responsibilities at Long Island’s largest credit union. Bethpage made headlines a few years ago for its community charter approval to serve all of Long Island. Armyn, who joined Bethpage in 2001, recently served as assistant vice president. In her new role, she will direct the growth of the CU’s business market including having oversight of business and brand development; mergers and acquisitions, community outreach; public relations, Bethpage Scholarship Foundation; government affairs, and development and operations for the CU’s business services. In the course of her tenure, she has led Bethpage into a multi-media Community Champions program with Newsday for 2005, a marketing program with the Long Island Radio Group, a mentoring partnership with Project GRAD, and a cooperative business training and resource program with the Small Business Development Center, State University of New York at Farmingdale. Bethpage serves more than 130,000 members.
