ARNOLD, Mo. – Arsenal Credit Union has put $127,000 back into members' pockets and isn't afraid to tell the world-or at least local media. The $108 million credit union is running large-sized ads in several local newspapers with a headline that reads: "We Just Paid Our Members An Extra $127,000! Ever hear of a bank doing that? Neither have we." Besides educating consumers on the differences between credit unions and banks, Arsenal CU hopes to attract new members as a result of the ads. More than 10,000 members received $10 or $20, depending on whether they had a checking account and/or loan with the credit union.
