St. Vrain Valley Credit Union, Longmont, Colo., has recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary. For the past 50 years the credit union has continually expanded its services based on members' needs. Today the St. Vrain Valley CU has over $60 million in assets and operates out of a 6,500 square-foot facility. To celebrate this milestone anniversary and show appreciation to its loyal membership, St. Vrain Valley CU hosted a 50's themed bash complete with staffers dressed in their best 50's attire. Springfield Teacher's Credit Union, Mass., has recently celebrated its 75th anniversary. Established at a time when everyone was feeling the effects of Black Thursday and the crash of the New York Stock Exchange, the credit union survived and has grown to over $95 million in assets and serves over 11,000 members. Earthmover Credit Union, Aurora, Ill., has celebrated the 15th year anniversary of Lending Manger Todd Westmoreland. To honor Westmoreland for his many years of dedicated service, President/CEO Warren Schumacher and Executive Vice President Libby Calderone presented him with a congratulatory certificate and staff celebrated with a cake. Since his start date, Westmoreland has played an important role in the advancement and growth at Earthmover CU. Merced School Employees Federal Credit Union, Calif., has reached a milestone of 50 years of service. In 1954, seven educators came together and formed a financial cooperative aimed at helping school employees save money by borrowing from each other at affordable rates. 50 years later, with four branches, over $285 million in assets and serving over 32,500 members, MSEFCU has come a long way from its humble beginnings. North Carolina Credit Union League, Greensboro, has announced that credit unions here have one silver anniversary and three golden anniversary milestones to recognize this year. Celebrating 50 years of service are East Coast Community CU; Greensboro Health Care CU and North State Telco CU. Ringing in 25 years of service is TOP CU. Northwest Corporate Credit Union, Portland, Ore., Vice President of Human Resources Cathy Lawpaugh has celebrated her 25th anniversary. Lawpaugh has an extensive history with Northwest Corporate since she started her employment back on January 3, 1980, as a clerk for Oregon Corporate Central CU. Today Lawpaugh oversees not only the human resource department, but facilities, administration, and coordinates the Northwest Corporate University, where she shares her knowledge and belief in the credit union movement with the staff.
