HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Redstone Federal Credit Union has found success with its new quarterly magazine Connections. The second edition mailed to over 150,000 households in the Tennessee Valley area has earned rave reviews from members. “Since our premiere issue of Connections last August, we’ve heard nothing but compliments from our members and we couldn’t be more delighted in the overall success of this magazine,” said Redstone FCU President Gerald Toland. “This edition contains a lot of good and beneficial information for our members and, for the first time, it includes advertising from several of our area businesses who have partnered with the credit union as service groups.” Media kits were created and sent out to perspective advertisers. “We had a goal of how much advertising we wanted to have in the magazine and we actually surpassed that goal,” said Ken Jost, assistant vice president of marketing. “By giving our service groups the opportunity to advertise in the magazine, we’re adding more value to being an RFCU Service Group while offsetting the cost of production and distribution of the magazine. It’s a winning combination for us and area businesses.” According to Jost, replacing the credit union’s traditional four-page newsletter with a 16-page magazine format, gives members a new approach to understanding the real benefits of being a credit union member and how Redstone FCU truly connects to the communities it serves. “Based on the success of advertising sales in this edition, we may have to look at increasing the number of pages for our third publication,” Jost said. “That is fine. We’ve got a lot of information we can get in it for our members to enjoy.”
