RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – Ron Fong, an eight-year veteran of the California Credit Union League, was promoted to director of state government affairs, in charge of the League's Sacramento office, and chief registered lobbyist for California CUs before the state legislatures, state regulators, governors, and state agencies in California and Nevada. Fong was previously CCUL's director of political finance. His promotion is effective immediately. He takes over the former responsibilities of Bob Arnould who was promoted in November to the new position of senior vice president of government affairs. Fong will report to Arnould, and the League plans to hire a new director of political finance. Fong began work at the California Credit Union League in the spring of 1996 as assistant director of state government affairs. He became director of political finance in April 2002. Fong is a former stock broker and college business law instructor, beginning his legal career working at Littler, Mendelson, Fastiff and Tichy, one of the largest employment law firms in the U.S. and at the Sacramento District Attorney's Office.
