WETHERSFIELD, Conn. – Dutch Point Credit Union, Inc has joined forces with the Greater Hartford Literacy Council and the United Way Literacy Volunteers of Connecticut to launch a “Read to Achieve” literacy program. The fund-raising kick-off event resulted in donating 100 dictionaries to the Richard J. Kinsella Community School, as well as sponsoring First Book, a books-at-home initiative for $1,000 which ensures that each child receives one new book a month for one year. Dutch Point CU CEO Fran Proto, COO Pauline Davis and Marketing/ Administration Vice President Liz Mumford not only donated $1,000 to the Richard J. Kinsella School but also handed out books to every kindergarten student. Kinsella School is the original location of the first Dutch Point CU branch.
