VANCOUVER, Wash.- Former CEO David Doss’ departure from the $660 million Columbia Community Credit Union appeared marked by goodwill and included some promotions for Columbia staff. Over 100 members of the Vancouver and Columbia communities gathered on January 5 to wish controversial CEO David Doss farewell as he left to head up a credit union in Arizona. According to the credit union, the well-wishers included Royce Pollard, mayor of Vancouver and Wayne Clemetson, president of the Vancouver rotary. Both men praised Doss and Columbia’s involvement in civic events and work. No mention was made of the controversial attempted move from a credit union to bank charter which colored the last part of Doss’ tenure at the credit union. Doss moved on to head the $920 million Arizona State Savings and Credit Union in Phoenix, Arizona. Before he left Doss announced the promotion of Dean Vigfusson from vice president of consumer lending to senior vice president of consumer lending, and Bergen Peterson from chief information officer to senior vice president, CIO. Both had “demonstrated exceptional leadership and progressive vision for Columbia,” Doss said. Columbia has named Chuck Anderson, a senior vice president of the credit union, to serve as an interim CEO while the board conducts an executive search to find a replacement for Doss. -
