HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Four members of Redstone FCU drove home with early Christmas gifts from the credit union in the form of brand new 2005 SUVs. The four were winners of Redstone’s Giant SUV Giveback promotion the credit union ran for four months starting September 1. More than 30,000 members entered the contest through a variety of entry opportunities that were offered including getting approved for a new checking account, Freedom Check Card, Personal Credit Card, WorldWide Branch Online, a home equity line of credit, a $10,000 loan, or by sending in a self-addressed stamped envelope for an entry form. Launched for the first time in 2003, the promotion was designed to encourage members to sign up for a new product or service or upgrade the ones they already have, and for RFCU to thank them for choosing the credit union as their financial institution. It was also an opportunity for Redstone to partner with auto dealers that are in the dealer network of the credit union’s indirect lending program. The four winners of the SUVs won a 2005 Suzuki XL-7, a 2005 Toyota RAV-4, a 2005 Jeep Liberty, and a 2005 Ford Escape. They drove their new vehicles home from the credit union on Dec. 16 when the promotion ended.
