OKLAHOMA CITY – Fifteen credit unions in Oklahoma and Kansas have partnered to form a new credit union real estate network to help increase their market share in mortgage lending. There are already 15 other CUREN groups around the U.S. Bob Dorsa, president of the American Credit Union Mortgage Association, keynoted a meeting earlier this month marking the kickoff of the CUREN. He told attendees it will be important to encourage smaller credit unions in Oklahoma and Kansas to find ways to expand their mortgage business. Otherwise, he cautioned, we're sending their members to other lenders when they want a mortgage loan.
