MOORPARK, Calif. – U.S. New Mexico Federal Credit Union of Albuquerque, the state's third largest CU, has contracted with XP Systems for a new core processing system. The $415 million institution will be converting to the XP2 platform from the Fiserv unit. It's currently being served by another Fiserv unit, AFTECH, according to the 2004 Credit Union Technology Survey from Callahan & Associates. USNMFCU chose XP2 for its open, relational IBM database, built-in member relationship and cross-selling features, and commercial banking solutions that are a key to the credit union's strategic direction, according to Steve Marcum, CEO of USNMFCU. "During our system search, we saw that XP2 has flexibility in accommodating how a credit union decides to do business," said Marcum. USNMFCU is the first credit union to choose to complement the XP2 system with business solutions from Fiserv CBS, said XP Systems President John Edwards. The conversion is scheduled to take place in 2005.
