WASHINGTON-CUNA took advantage of the lame duck session to attend events welcoming in the new class of lawmakers. CUNA Legislative Affairs Manager Linda Gualtieri went to a meet and greet event where she spoke with incoming-Republican Representatives Mike Sodrel (Ind.) and Lynn Westmoreland (Ga.) before Thanksgiving. She also posed with Congressman-elect Michael Fitzpatrick (Pa.) whom she had helped with his campaign. Gualtieri was also involved in the Pennsylvania Bush-Cheney campaign. CUNA Vice President of Political Affairs Richard Gose shared a moment with Congressman-elect Jeff Fortenberry (Neb.) who is succeeding House Financial Services Committee Member Congressman Doug Bereuter (R), who announced his retirement after the 108th Congress.
