EUGENE, Ore. – While school across the country are experiencing program cuts and dwindling financial resources, SELCO Community Credit Union has helped local area schools here with a $26,000 donation. Through its Mini-Grant program, some 108 different educators were approved for their grant requests up to $250 to fund programs ranging from traditional mathematics and geography, to establishing new creative programs. "Our Mini-Grant program is structured to help the many teachers who can get the most benefit out of the dollars," said SELCO CCU President/CEO Ava Milosevich. "It is amazing that with as little as $250, teachers can start a new program or provide an innovative learning experience outside of the classroom. That is truly a credit to the teachers who each year ask us to help fund some amazing educational opportunities for students."
