WASHINGTON-Charles P. “Chuck” Seibold was the first winner of the “Chuck Seibold Credit Union Attorney of the Year” award. The award will be presented to a credit union attorney annually at CUNA’s Credit Union Attorney’s Conference for outstanding achievement during the preceding year or for lifetime achievement, for which Seibold was honored. He served for many years as CUNA’s outside legal counsel and, for a time, as CUNA’s general counsel. He has also represented numerous credit unions around the nation, and is a senior partner in the Madison, Wis., law firm of Dewitt Ross and Stevens. Seibold, a World War II combat veteran and prisoner of war, earned his juris doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1950. CUNA’s attorney’s conference has been held 37 times since the late 1960s and attracts up to 200 lawyers and guests.
