ALBANY, N.Y. -Capital Communications Federal Credit Union and Silicone Employees Federal Credit Union have merged effective November 20, 2004. Capital Communications FCU will retain all current employees and branch locations of Silicone Employees FCU. A new branch is slated to open in Clifton Park during December and a fifth branch opening is planned in Schenectady County for early 2005. In addition, two existing Silicone Employees FCU board members will be added to the Capital Communications FCU board. "With our commitment to convenience and unparalleled service, we embrace this new opportunity and welcome Silicone Employees FCU members into our family of members with open arms," Capital Communications FCU President/CEO Paula Stopera said. "We look forward to being able to improve the products and services offered to our new members through this merger, and commit to them that we will be a part of their families' financial needs well into the future." Silicone Employees FCU has assets of $16 million and Capital Communications FCU has $386 million in assets.
