RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – Bob Arnould, who has worked at the California Credit Union League since 1995 in charge of the League's advocacy programs and most recently held the position of vice president of state governmental affairs, was promoted to senior vice president of government affairs, a new position. In his new role, Arnould is in charge of all CCUL federal and state advocacy. Effective immediately he is responsible for both the league's state and federal governmental affairs departments, and its political finance staff. Arnould has been working out of CCUL's Sacramento office, but he will be relocating to CCUL's Rancho Cucamonga headquarters. Arnould joined CCUL in May 1995 as director of legislative affairs. He previously served for 17 years in the Iowa legislature, beginning in 1977 and was reelected through eight consecutive terms. In 1991, at age 36, he became speaker of the Iowa House of Representatives. Arnould's appointment rounds out a series of position changes CCUL has made in its advocacy area since its former federal governmental affairs vice president Chris Kerecman left the league in September to work as SVP at California Credit Union. Following Kerecman's departure, Kelly Purcell, who was hired as the league's federal legislative affairs manager in 2003, became acting director of federal governmental affairs. CCUL said she will remain in that position. Meanwhile it is currently seeing a new director of state governmental affairs.
