WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Credit union members may very well be in the dark when it comes to banker attacks. That was the take of an overwhelming majority of voters in Credit Union Times' just expired voting poll. More than 70% of voters said that credit union trade associations and credit unions have not done enough to educate members about banker attacks and the potential damage of them. Only 10% of voters felt that members understood the importance of the banker issue. The question and results are as follows: Have credit unions and CU trade associations done enough to educate members about banker attacks and the potential impact of losing the tax exemption, FOM powers and other popular targets of the bankers? * No, enough hasn't been done to alert members of the issues
70.85% * Yes, members understand the importance of banker attacks
10.12% * It's a credit union problem, and members shouldn't be dragged into the political fight
