BRONX, N.Y. – Municipal Credit Union has opened the doors to its latest state-of-the-art facility here and members are loving it. The street-level 7,000 square foot branch features nine teller stations, 15 member service desks, interior ATMs and even kiosks where time-pressed members can manage accounts, apply for loans, access Home banking, obtain statement copies and print official checks. In addition, plasma screens throughout the branch broadcast customized daily news feeds from the local Time Warner station NY1 mixed with MCU commercials and special offers. “”From the moment you step into the branch you know you’re in for quite a banking experience,” said MCU Senior Vice President Banking Services Marcos Otero. “It is also a great location which makes it much more convenient for members.” Another unique branch feature is the Queumatic system, which works in conjunction with the information desk to direct members to the appropriate service area and assigns members to the next available staff member. Otero says it eliminates the need to stand in line and members can even go out to run a few quick errands and return without worrying they will miss their turn because the system even provides an estimated wait time. “This branch has kept the same feeling of warmth and community as our other branches while its efficiency helps make the entire experience more enjoyable for the member,” said MCU Marketing Vice President Chuck Robbins.
