BETHPAGE, N.Y. – Entrepreneurial hopefuls and established business owners in the Long Island area here now have access to free seminars on starting and running a business. Bethpage Federal Credit Union has aligned with the Farmingdale Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to bring a plethora of start-up resources to entrepreneurs. The $1.9 billion credit union said it will partner with Farmingdale State University of New York to offer free seminars on a number of business start-up topics. Upcoming seminars will cover how to write a business plan, marketing for small businesses and business taxes. The first joint seminar on how to successfully start a small business “was very well attended and received excellent reviews, said Lucille Wesnofske, SBDC director. “Bethpage makes financing options available through its Business Services line, but also recognizes that entrepreneurs need assistance in formulating business development strategies,” said Linda Armyn, Bethpage assistant vice president of business development. In addition to seminars, the alliance will offer referral services. “As a credit union, this partnership emphasizes Bethpage’s commitment to Long Island businesses, which is an extension of our service to the Long Island community as a whole,” Armyn said. By joining Bethpage resources with those of SBDC, we plan to strengthen business initiatives.”
