NASA Federal Credit Union, Upper Marlboro, Md., has announced the winners of its 2004 Mitchell-Beall Memorial Scholarship. This year’s winners include Sean Lyons, $7,000; Erin Frey $5,000; Joseph Solari,$3,000; Talia Goldman,$1,000; and Cherise Davis, $1,000. Students were selected based on their response to the essay question My Educational and Financial Goals for College and Beyond and the Role NASA FCU Can Play. Penn East Federal Credit Union, Scranton, Pa., has named the recipients of its 2004 mark Raymond Memborial Scholarship. This year’s winners are Colin Kearney and Maura Armezzani. Each recipient was awarded $2,500. P & G Mehoopany Employees Federal Credit Union, has awarded two $500 scholarships to Carly Migliori and Jaclyn Hice. Award recipients were selected based on academic achievement and community involvement. Memphis Area Teachers’ Credit Union, Tenn., has awarded 21 $2,500 scholarships to future educators. For the past five years MATCU has presented a total of $102,500 in scholarships. Since the scholarships are renewable, each has the potential to be worth $10,000 to an individual student over the course of four years if winners continue to meet requirements. LBS Financial Credit Union, Long Beach, Calif., has awarded scholarships to 28 students. Each year LBSFCU encourages local area high schools, adult schools and community colleges to participate in their scholarship program by recommending students for an award. This year 24 high school, two college and 2 adult school students were awarded scholarships. Community Trust Credit Union, Gurnee,Ill., has awarded scholarships to four deserving students. Christopher Moorehead was awarded a four-year $500 scholarship. In addition, Richard Diesterheft, Carey Harbison and Janelle Johann were each awarded one-year $500 scholarships.
