NEW BRIGHTON, Minn. – CU Companies, the leading CUSO in Minnesota, has signed on nine new owners – four of which are located "outstate" of the Minneapolis/St. Paul region the company has focused on in the past. That brings the total number of CUs that share in ownership of the CUSO to 63, 12 of which are outstate of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The nine new credit union owners include the largest in the state, Wings Financial FCU (formerly NWA FCU), in Apple Valley, as well as: HomeTown FCU, Owatonna; Federated ECU, Owatonna; PACE CU, West St. Paul; St. Cloud FCU, St. Cloud; Electric Machinery ECU, Minneapolis; St. Mary's FCU, Sleepy Eye; SMW FCU, Maplewood; and Anoka Hennepin CU, Coon Rapids. Founded and incorporated in July 1987 as CU Mortgage Services, CU Companies currently includes six subsidiaries. It has $714 million in its loan portfolio.
