MONTVALE, N.J. – Now Canadian shoppers in U.S. retailers will be able to make their purchases more easily. The NYCE Corporation, a leading provider of ATM and debit card services in the U.S., has expanded its reach to include Canada. NYCE announced on 8 October that, effective immediately, Canadians shopping at merchants that are part of its point-of-sale network will be able to use their debit cards at the POS terminals and be able to make debit purchases Now, Canadian debit cardholders no longer have to make a separate trip to an ATM to get cash or convert Canadian dollars before shopping in the United States, NYCE said. U.S. retailers will benefit by gaining online, real-time access to funds on deposit in Canada – through the NYCE Network PIN point-of-sale service. Canadians have one of the highest rates of PIN-debit use in the world on a per capita basis, and Canadian cardholders prefer this form of payment two-to-one to cash, credit card or check.
