WESTBROOK, Me. – "Less fees, great taste," was the theme for the 5th annual Taste the World event hosted by the Maine Credit Union League in honor of International Credit Union Week. Some 75 employees of the Maine CUL and its subsidiary, Synergent, sampled exotic food while learning about credit union movements from around the world and raising funds for the Maine CUs' Campaign for Ending Hunger. A few of the countries represented included Nepal, Ireland, Mexico, and England. In addition to offering a tasty way to ring in ICU Week, the event raised nearly $200 for the Maine CUs' Campaign for Ending Hunger, a campaign that has raised more than $1.53 million to end hunger in Maine since 1990.
