MADISON, Wis.-CUES has added a new award to its list of recognition programs-CUES Future Leader. “After evaluating our current offerings, we decided an honor to recognize the merits of up-and-coming credit union leaders was in order because each year-without fail-the CUES Executive of the Year winner acknowledges the vital support he or she has had from their team as a major factor in winning the award,” said Mickey Wilson, CCUE, president, Greater Warren Community FCU and CUES board chairman. The judging panel, which will consist of past CUES Executive of the Year honorees, will evaluate CUES Future Leader nominees based on criteria such as accomplishments made within their credit union and the movement in general; contributions made to CUES and its Councils; the level of professional development and education achieved by the nominee; and community contributions. “Judges will also consider the details of a single problem-solving plan which was developed, led and put into action by the nominee,” said CUES President/CEO Fred Johnson. To be eligible for the CUES Future Leader award, candidates must be a CUES member in good standing for at least one year; CEOs are not eligible for nomination. The inaugural winner will be presented with a crystal trophy award during CEO Network 2005 next November in Las Vegas. The honoree will also be profiled in Credit Union Management magazine.
