I loved publisher Mike Welch’s Sept. 22 column on credit union contests, “Banks Have Contests Why Not Credit Unions Too?”. I am certain that I could win in a couple of categories, but for sake of factual proof I will enter category number nine, which was to find a bank building that is less impressive than that of a similar sized bank’s facility (boardroom and CEO’s office included). I can clearly prove that Pacific Trust Bank’s offices are not even closely comparable in opulence to any local credit union in town of similar size. This includes not only our boardroom and my office but the whole facility. You are invited for a visit at any time so you will easily be able to judge. I look forward to my complimentary subscription for the coming year but can assure you that in the event of not winning, however small a chance, I will be glad to pay for next year again to remain a devoted reader!
