Credit Union Central Falls, R.I., has awarded $10,000 in annual scholarships to graduating seniors from area high schools. Recipients are selected based on grades, community involvement, financial need, and a personal essay illuminating the applicant’s goals and aspirations. Each scholarship winner received a check for $2,000, and a $25 deposit in a newly opened savings account. This year’s recipients include Nancy Canno, Jonathan Casavant, Erin Gibbons, Corey Martin and Erin Redihan. Black Hills Federal Credit Union, Rapid City, S.D., has awarded three high school seniors scholarships. This year’s recipients include Daniel Hayden, Sarah Manley and Cali Seidel. Each was presented $1,000. Pacific Resource Credit Union, Los Angeles, Calif., has awarded three scholarships based on grades, overall school and/or community contribution, leadership, and need. This year’s top scholarship award winner is Joanna Li, who was presented a check for $2,000. Rounding out second and third place are Nick Scruton with a $1,500 scholarship and his brother Michael Scruton with a $1,000 award.
