VIENNA, Va. - Navy FCU didn't waste much time finding CEO Brian McDonnell's successor. The world's largest CU has named Cutler Dawson as its new CEO. Dawson is a past Navy FCU volunteer official, having served on its boards and various committees on and off for the last five years. His last role with Navy FCU was as a personal policies committee member. He will assume the new role on December 6. Dawson, a Vice Admiral, is a 34-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, most recently serving as CFO and principal advisor to the Chief of Naval Operations. Currently he is on assignment in Bahrain. He has a lot of at-sea experience, including tours on frigates, destroyers and cruisers. He commanded the USS Molala (ATF-106), USS Bronstein (FF-1037), USS Harry W. Hill (DD-986), USS Princeton (CG 59), and Cruiser-Destroyer Group Twelve/Enterprise Battle Group. "Cutler Dawson will be an outstanding CEO for Navy Federal," said McDonnell. "I am excited about my replacement and his ability to lead this credit union into the future. I've worked closely with him throughout his years as a member of Navy Federal's volunteer family."
