SILVER SPRING, Md. – Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union has kicked off the opening of its fourth full-service branch with a grand opening celebration that included popcorn and hotdog stands, cookies, and other refreshments. In addition every half hour there was a drawing for various prizes, including $25 gift cards to local merchants and a grand prize drawing for TIVO, a digital video recording device. In addition to lobby service, the branch provides a drive-thru teller window, a night depository, and a 24-hour walk-up automated teller machine. The Silver Spring branch marks the credit union's first branch in eastern Montgomery County since its community charter was expanded in July 2003 to include the entire county.
