Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union, N.Y, has awarded 44 high school graduates a total of $49,500. Recipients were selected based on need and academic excellence. Funded by PSFCU 33 scholarships for $1,000 and 11 for $1,500 were awarded. United Southeast Federal Credit Union, Bristol, Tenn., has awarded a total of $5,000 in scholarships. In addition to increasing its scholarship awards to get more involved with area youth the credit union hosted its first USFCU Youth Day. Ten youth, ages 17-20, attended a four-hour educational session that included such topics ranging from the Do's & Don't of Interviewing, Why Saving is Important and Components of a Loan, to Security & Identity Theft and Consequences of Your Actions.
