ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson has invited representatives from credit union organizations to address a Summit on Credit Union Capital at the agency's headquarters on Oct. 19. "All issues relating to capital for America's credit unions will be on the table," Johnson said. "Capital is a critical issue affecting all institutions – both natural person and corporate credit unions. We need to expand the dialogue and bring credit union officials together as we explore safe and sound opportunities for capital." The Association of Corporate Credit Unions, CUNA, NAFCU, National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors, and the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions have been invited to speak for 30 minutes each at the summit. The NCUA Board and senior staff will attend. Written comments may also be provided to the Secretary of the Board Mary Rupp before Nov. 19.
