WASHINGTON – The National Association of Community Credit Unions figures there's no better source to hear from about the challenges following a community charter conversion than the CEOs who have lived through it. The association has created a panel of speakers to address attendees of its Sixth Annual Conference next month about what they can expect after a charter conversion. The panel includes Lori Dauskas, president/CEO of the $2.1 million Members Choice FCU in Bloomington, Indiana; Ed Boughal, President and CEO of the $643 million Suffolk FCU based in Medford, N.Y.; and Thomas O'Shea, president/CEO of the $63 million Raritan Bay FCU in Sayreville, N.J. All three of these credit unions have gone through such charter conversions. "This panel was designed to provide first-hand accounts of how diverse credit unions addressed these issues and succeeded in providing quality member service while extending their outreach to their communities," said NACCU Chairwoman Grace Mayo, president/CEO of Telesis Community CU in Northridge, California NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson will also speak at the event. This is the first year that NACCU has offered a guest program. Guests can participate in tours of the Sedona/Verde Valley area, Taliesin West – the winter residence of Frank Lloyd Wright – and dinner with fellow conference attendees at a Phoenix landmark restaurant – Aunt Chilada's.
