MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Mark Brennan will start his new role as president/CEO of US Airways Federal Credit Union on Oct. 1. Brennan has been with the credit union for nearly 14 years including 11 years as vice president of human resources and training. His new role comes shortly after US Airways filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. “It has been an exciting challenge to continue to build and extend the relationships developed with our Airline members as well as all of our members,” Brennan said. “This is a time in the airline industry that the employees need their credit union more than ever and we have been there assisting them anyway necessary. This loyalty has been returned from these members.” Brennan said the credit union will continue to be “supportive of our sponsor for their success, and we intend to assist our members (with) their financial needs during this difficult time.” Going forward, US Airways credit union will continue to add new products and services and investigate delivery channels that will benefit members, Brennan said. Technology, an area that outgoing President/CEO Joseph Cirelli “has been at the forefront of developing,” will continue to be a priority. “Mr. Cirelli’s strength was his ability to make the tough decisions and set a good example of leadership, including working effectively as a mentor for employees for their success,” Brennan said. “Additionally, he always made decisions keeping the member as the key focus.” Brennan said the “credit union will not speculate on the future business decisions of the airline, however, our official statement to all members is it will be `business as usual.’ ” US Airways FCU serves more than 80,000 members and has $607 million in assets.
