VIENNA, Va.-Navy Federal Credit Union has begun offering members an online service that informs voters about early and mail-in voting. “With the general elections a few short months away, Navy Federal believes it’s important for our members to exercise their right to vote, especially sailors, marines, DoN (Department of Navy) civilians and families on deployment and remote duty,” Navy Federal President and CEO Brian McDonnell explained. Navy Federal has over 100,000 member households with foreign or APO/FPO mailing address. “We’re providing our members easy access to voting information so they can help ensure their voice is heard,” McDonnell said. “The concept of one-member, one-vote is the centerpiece of our country’s, and credit union, democracy, and we should regard voting as a responsibility.” The first day the link (http://navyfcu.helpingamericansvote.org.) was available over 270 members accessed voting information from 38 states. The world’s largest credit union has teamed up with HelpingAmericansVote.org, a non-partisan online service that organizations can offer to their members and employees to increase voter participation. The service also provides voter registration information using the new national voter registration mail-in process and helps them take advantage of mail-in voting and early voting. CUNA has also partnered with the group since a number of states have made absentee voting simpler, allowing more people to participate by expanding the process beyond a single election day.
