ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – State regulators and representatives from both state and federally-chartered credit unions who travel to the scenic Southwest city of Albuquerque for NASCUS’ 39th Annual Conference & Symposium will hear from a plethora of speakers who will address a wide variety of timely issues and topics relevant to the dual chartering and state credit union system. Among the list of names topping the speakers list for the four-day event, Sept. 12-15 are: NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson and Board member Debbie Matz; Federal Reserve Board Governor Susan Schmidt Bies; New Mexico State Rep. Frank Mautino; and the SBA’s James Hammersley. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from other recognizable people in credit union land such as Laura Levine from the Jump$tart Coalition, Jim Hayes from WesCorp; CUNA Mutual Group’s Robert Rusch, Steve Martin and Steve Garvey; and Steve Brobeck of the Consumer Federation of America. Conferees will of course have ample time to take in and enjoy some of the beautiful sights around Albuquerque including a tour of the Acoma Indian Pueblo.
