ST. PAUL, Minn. – For the second consecutive year, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union has been named one of the 2004 Great Places to Work by The Business Journal of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Business Journal recently published a special supplement featuring all 2004 Great Places to Work winners. Out of 107 nominations, 23 organizations across the state were featured as winners. Affinity Plus is the only credit union to ever receive the award. "We have worked very hard over the past year to ensure that our employees are focused on building trusting relationships that are based on our pure intention to do what is right for each of our members so that we can help put them in a better financial position," said Affinity Plus FCU President/CEO Kyle L. Markland. "We have empowered all employees with the expectation and accountability that they are to do whatever it takes to ensure the financial well-being of each and every member-without fear of repercussion if it was not in the best interest of the organization." According to Markland, burdensome procedures and processes have been removed, and each employee is challenged to seek the knowledge he or she needs to ensure every member's short and long-term financial success given the host of tools and resources available. "We truly believe that if we focus on the unique, individual needs and goals of our members and work to put them in a better financial situation, that growth for the organization will be a natural outcome," said Markland.
