ARLINGTON, Va. – NAFCU added two attorneys to its regulatory and compliance staff in August after losing two others recently. Anthony Demangone was named NAFCU’s new regulatory compliance counsel after the departure of Rob Byrer. Demangone started work with NAFCU Aug. 16. He had previously worked at Washington, D.C. law firm Shook, Hardy, and Bacon and is a graduate of George Mason University School of Law. Before that, he was an attorney at Keller and Heckman. He has also written articles on labor law that ran in Credit Union Executive Journal and Compliance magazine, as well as spending five years as a member services supervisor at Wright Patman Congressional Federal Credit Union. Additionally, Carrie Hunt joined NAFCU’s staff Aug. 23 as the new associate director of regulatory affairs, a position previously held by Eric Envall. Hunt most recently clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and, prior to that, served as legal counsel to Massachusetts State Senator Andrea F. Nuciforo, diving in depth into financial services issues. She is a graduate of William and Mary School of Law.
