MADISON, Wis.-CUES has recently walked away with several 2004 Apex Awards of Excellence. The 16th annual competition recognizes excellence in publications work by professional communicators. APEX Awards are based on recognizing quality in graphic design, editorial content and the ability to achieve overall communications effectiveness. This year's competition included nearly 5,500 entries in 11 major categories and 109 subcategories. CUES' Credit Union Management magazine was awarded an Apex Award of Excellence in the Category of Magazines & Journals – Printed Four Color. The design of the 2004 CUES catalog garnered another Apex Award of Excellence in the category of Catalogs, Directories & Buyers' Guides. And, the 2004 CUES Media Guide also won an Apex Award of Excellence in the category of Media Kit & News Press Release Writing. "These awards just further validate the excellent work being done at CUES," said Mickey Wilson, CCUE, CUES' chairman of the board of directors and president of Greater Warren Community FCU. "It's important that the superb offerings CUES provides to the movement are supported and promoted by such effective marketing pieces."
