FAIRFAX, Va. – Members considering purchasing a pre-owned car and use Carfax to get background information on a vehicle can now get expanded service information from the Carfax Vehicle History Reports. Potential owners can find more detailed service records on how the vehicle was maintained. This information includes detailed records of routine maintenance such as oil changes and tune-ups, along with more extensive information like damage repairs and parts replacement, when available. The service history displays the name, location and Web address of each shop that provides maintenance information to Carfax. Carfax recommendes used car buyers to request maintenance records from the seller prior to purchasing a vehicle. It also advises consumers to have an inspection performed by a trustworthy and reliable mechanic.
