ATLANTA – Two credit union vendors have made the CIO Magazine’s “CIO 100″ list for 2004. SecureWorks and CUNA Mutual both made the list. It’s the second year in a row the journal for chief information officers has named SecureWorks to its list of organizations the magazine says “exemplifies the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology.” SecureWorks, whose client list includes a number of the nation’s largest credit unions, is joined on the list by corporate giants such as FedEx, Dell, Marriott and Staples. This year’s emphasis was on executives and organizations that use IT to respond quickly to change. CIO recognized SecureWorks for adoption of a flat organizational structure, use of non-bureaucratic processes, and swift deployment of its supply chain. Mike Cote, CEO of SecureWorks, says “our clients expect and deserve no less. We avoid bureaucracy in favor of empowering everyone in the company to do what it takes to keep our clients satisfied and above all, protected.” CUNA Mutual was cited for its agility in providing its credit union customers with online employee screening that assists them in hiring reliable employees. The magazine said that technology helps credit unions to complete the hiring process much more efficiently. “CUNA Mutual has made a concerted effort at being able to adapt our technology initiatives to meet the rapidly changing business environment. Being flexible and innovative are essential in enhancing our capabilities internally, and ultimately allows us to better serve our credit union customers,” said Rick Roy, CUNA Mutual’s chief technology officer.” Roy will be presented CUNA Mutual’s CIO 100 Award on Aug. 24 at the Broadmoor Hotel and Resort in Colorado Springs, Colo., at the sixth annual CIO 100 Symposiumr and Awards Ceremony.
