ARLINGTON, Va.-The line up for NAFCU Congressional Caucus, scheduled for next month, is filling in nicely with many high profile public officials of interest to credit unions. On Sept. 27, Fred Grandy-who lists among his accomplishments a four-term congressman, CEO of Goodwill Industries, but possibly known better as Gopher on The Love Boat-will keynote the caucus. He will be followed by NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson, Treasury Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions Wayne Abernathy, Small Business Administration Deputy Administrator Malnie Sabelhaus, the White House Council of Economic Advisors Chairman Dr. N. Gregory Mankiw, and Federal Reserve Board Governor Edward Gramlich. The next day's highlights so far include NCUA Board Member Debbie Matz, followed by Fannie Mae Vice Chair and COO Daniel Mudd, Senate Banking Committee Member Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) (in charge of reg relief legislation), House Financial Services Committee Chairman Mike Oxley (R-Ohio) and Ranking Member Barney Frank (D-Mass.). Congressional Caucus will conclude Sept. 29 with House Financial Services Committee Members Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.) and Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), along with the ranking Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, Paul Sarbanes (Md.).
